EVERYONE LOVES ELENA DEMENTIEVA!!!! An amazing player, dedicated athlete, aconsummate pro, an inspiring example, and a great person. My only regret is not seeing her win a slam and despite her underachieving numbers I hope she makes the Hall Of Fame. She belongs there… Always one of my absolute favs

Wow, a lovely, lovely tribute. And everyone looks awesome (I think the B&W footage helps).
Jon Wertheim asked an interesting question — which would you rather have: a Grand Slam title or all the love and adoration from fans/colleagues. Whlie I don’t think they’re mutually exclusive, this video shows that Elena’s career was undoubtedly a fascinating one that will not easily be duplicated. I’ve been an avid WTA fan for many, many years, but I know that *I* will miss her greatly.

it’s unbelievable. I totally respect her decision, but still, it came out to be so sudden.
